Bioout of the past too many stories
all have been told none well-heard
the failures passions the little glories
the loudest silence and the quiet word
i write and think but most of all i teach
of government of choice and of great vision
beyond this with my little verse i reach
and hope for praise now and not derision
my sons are grown and starting out in life
i love them both and want them to succeed
above them both i love my sweetheart wife
and will do so till both our lives recede
this is my tale and it is briefly told
i dare this now and see that i am bold
